What to Wear When You’re Working from Home

Breathable leggings from Ouges

I don’t know about you but for the last 6 months while working from home, I’ve been living in leggings, t-shirts and slippers! There is nothing better than getting up out of bed at 8:30am (instead of 7am!) and pulling on a comfy pair of leggings, my favourite t-shirt and slipping into some cosy slippers. It’s super liberating to not have to dress up in office clothes while having those Zoom calls isn’t it?!

Now that it looks like we’ll all be working remotely for the foreseeable future, it’s important to invest in comfortable, cosy and affordable leisure wear. Leggings are a wardrobe staple and perfect for yoga, walking and hiking. All you need to do is throw on a t-shirt and you’re good to go! If you’re shopping for some cool, comfortable working from home outfits that stand out from the rest, check out my suggestions below. These will see you through mild, autumnal weather and be perfect for those cold, wintry days as well.

Leggings

These versatile and practical leggings from Ouges (available to order now on Amazon) feature high waist tummy control to hide those extra Covid pounds! Have you ever found a pair of leggings with pockets? Neither have I until now! These leggings have deep pockets at thigh level, perfect for carrying your phone or sunglasses while out walking. They’re made from polyester and spandex and remove moisture from your body quickly. They come in a range of colours and prints. I bought the snakeprint pair for a bargain at €21 and they are so comfortable and stretchy, they feel like a second skin!

Cardigans

The great thing about cardigans is that you can throw them on over your favourite top or t-shirt and pair it with jeans or leggings and you have the perfect working from home outfit! Cardigans make the perfect transitional wardrobe staple for those cooler autumn days when you don’t want to wear something as heavy as a jumper indoors. Check out this Vero Moda cardigan in pale grey (available to order now on asos for only €24.99). With volume sleeves and V-neck, cosy never looked so good!

Slippers

When you want to be fancy free and foot loose, all you need is a cosy pair of slippers for lounging around the house. What better than a house shoe and slipper all in one? Always on the look out for phunky footwear, I found these ultra cool ‘smoking slippers’ (available to order now on Soludos for €71.95). They are made from tencel, a more sustainable material than cotton. You don’t need to smoke while wearing them but you’ll definitely impress your friends when they come over for outdoor drinks on the patio!
